The Science Olympiad initially involves 2 million students annually in grades K-12, with 5,500 teams in grades six through 12 actively competing in regional, state and the national tournament. The mission of the program is to enhance the quality of science education, to create a passion for science among school children and to reward both students and teachers for academic achievement.

The Science Olympiad brings out the talents, resourcefulness and skills of the top young scientific minds in the state as teams work on different science projects for competition in various categories. The events, which can involve individuals or teams, allow students to think creatively while building an elaborate project.

The CJCPCS was the only charter school that has participated in regional ( Princeton) Science Olympiad for this year despite being only 4 months old. CJCPCS students received 2 silver and 4 bronze medals with the 3 projects they prepared amongst 17 competing schools in the New Jersey Science Olympiad Princeton Region-Division B. The CJCPCS team consisted of 8 middle school students. As it was impossible to prepare for all categories this year, we as a school did not rank in top 10 schools; however we believe that we will represent our region in the statewide competitions and join the National Level next year.
